Summer chic

Summer chic

I created this look inspired by the summer. The plain woven straw bag and plain sandals really make the dress stand out. You don't want too many colours when you have a pattern dress as too many things going on with your look can clash and turn your outfit into a disaster. You either have to have a stand out dress with plain accessories or go for a plain dress and have bright accessories.

What do you think to the outfit?

Picture Perfect

I live near Cornwall which is in the southwest of England, right at the end of the country and for those of you who don't know, it's right by the water so a lot of the places are on the waterfront.

I love going to Cornwall, the landscape is beautiful and it's a great place to take photos if you love photography, like I do. It's also a nice place to think, the countryside walks really clear your head.

I thought I'd share some of my photos with you so you can see the beauty of Cornwall.

These photos were taken in;
 Mevagissey
• Newquay

Other places I love to visit in Cornwall;
• Looe
• St Ives
• Padstow
• Bude
• Lands End (furthest south place in Great Britain)

Giving Topshop another go..

In my last post, I wrote about how I bought a Topshop nail varnish last year and I wasn't that keen on it. Since then, I've spoken to a few people who have said that they got nail varnishes from there and they were really pleased. I was in Topshop yesterday and I was really curious to find out whether it is only particular colours that are watery and thin or whether it was all of them, so I bought 2 nail varnishes and decided to try them out.

The first one I went with was an orange colour, the name of  it is Causing A Stir. I was fascinated by the colour, I've seen shades like it before but never this particular one. Plus, at the moment I'm into oranges/peaches and minty greens/bright blues.

 Unlike the Green Room colour I tried last time, the first coat on this nail varnish, comes out quite thick so you only really need 1 maybe 2 coats. It dries pretty fast too which is always a bonus. I was really pleased with this colour, it dries the same colour as you see in the pot as well which is great.

The second colour I bought was Air Kisses. This is a really light blue colour. I thought it was a really nice spring/summer colour.

Like Causing A Stir, this one is nice and thick so you only need 1 to 2 coats, in the picture I only have on 1 coat. It dries fast, as well. This one dries the same colour as you see in the pot, too.

Neither of the two I've wrote about today are anything like the Green Room in anyway. They do take a little bit longer to dry but that's because they are thicker. I am in love with both of these nail varnishes, couldn't be happier with them.

I think with Topshop, it's a chance on whether you get a watery colour or not. All 3 nail varnishes are from the same range and shop. It's just whether you are prepared to pay £5 a pot where there could be a chance you've got a watery colour.

Both of these colours are on the Topshop website if anyone is interested, both of them are £5.

Is there any colours you have bought from Topshop that are watery and thin?

Topshop Nail Varnish...

Last year, I think it was around this time, I was given a Topshop voucher and I didn't know what to spend it on. I decided I would get a nail varnish from there and some jewellery. Now, I normally get my nail varnish from Avon because 9/10 times they are really good but I saw a colour in Topshop that I really liked so I thought 'ehh, what the heck'.

The colour is Green Room 104. I completely forgot that I bought this until the other day when I was sorting through my stuff and I found it. This is the first time I've worn it.

I'm not sure I 100% like this, the first coat you put on comes out really light and watery. In the photo above I have on 2 coats. In my experience if you put on more than two coats, the nail varnish is really easy to chip.

Do you sometimes find that the nail varnish comes out a different colour than the colour in the pot? Well, with  Topshop, their nail varnish comes out pretty much the same colour. That's something I really like. It kind of bugs me when you think you're getting one colour but the nail varnish turns out to be a completely different shade.
I'm in two minds with this. I think I'd wear this if I was going to a special occasion, like a meal or a party and I'd just put on 3 coats of it because I can take it off the next day and it shouldn't chip if i only wear it for a few hours.
This nail varnish was £5. I don't think it's worth it to be honest. If it wasn't so watery and thin, it would be amazing as I love the colour.
You can still buy this colour on the Topshop website, if anyone is interested.

Has anyone else bought this colour, if so, what do you think? Or has anyone bought a Topshop nail varnish and the same thing has happened to them? Let me know :)

The Tower Of London

So, I've been staying in Essex for a few day's visiting family and my uncle decided to take me to The Tower Of London, I thought it would be quite boring but actually it was really good. I recommend anyone who is visiting London, lives in London or is thinking of visiting, to go and see this place. You get to see the crown jewels, which I have to say are amazing and so pretty! I would show you photo's of the jewels but you weren't allowed :( so I decided to share with you some that I took of everything else!
